Mike Libby and Cybernetic Insect Sculptures

Beetles, bees, grasshoppers, butterflies, spiders, scorpions are part of the artwork of the artist Mike Libby in his exposition: I, insects.

The artist transforms, equipping them with small mechanical parts that give them the cyber appearance. It is an opportunity to confirm that there are stunningly beautiful insects.

The idea of equipping the insects with mechanical parts occurred to Libby a few years ago, after having found a dead beetle.
The beauty of the animal and how its various parts were articulated were the starting point for this work...

Libby empties insects (in the case of beetles) and puts in small inner parts of the mechanisms of clocks, but also electronics and even sewing machines's parts and other equipment.

It is nature and art showing their beauty.
