Cow urine is promoted as a healthy soda in India

But not just any cow. It must be the pee of a virgin cow and preferably harvested at dawn, claim the researchers.

"The cow urine offers cure for around 70 to 80 incurable diseases like diabetes," said Om Prakash, RSS - Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (Indian cow protection department).

Although you and I find it extremely absurd and disgusting, It’s not new that Indians use cow pee for therapeutic purposes, particularly among supporters of Ayurvedic medicine, a  health tradition practiced by Hindus for over 5000 years.

It is clear that many Indians prefer not to drink piss, and it was thinking about that the RSS has developed a soda called Gomutra Arka, which is made with pee from virgin cows.

There, the drink is promoted as a "healthy soda for daily consumption." They preach as an alternative to Coca-Cola, Pepsi and other sodas, which are seen as part of a wider problem of corrupt Western influences.

Makes sense?

A 2012 study published in Science magazine suggests that rats with diabetes who drank Gomutra Arka had significantly lower levels of blood glucose. The RSS is based in this study to display the traditional use of Gomutra Arka as a therapeutic option for diabetics.

Another study, Brazilian, and published in 2013 in the International Journal of Urology, claimed that distilled cow urine may help prevent the development of kidney stones.

Could you exchange your favorite soda by one made with cow pee?
